Prayer For Christian Leaders

Lord, raise up in your church
more leaders after your own heart
to guide us with courage and wisdom.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

Prayer For Freedom For the Church

God of mercy,
free your Church from sin
and protect it from evil.
Guide us, for we cannot be saved without you.

Prayer For Joy in the Church

God our Father,
you raised up John the Baptist
to prepare a perfect people for Christ the Lord.

Prayer for Our Congregations

Your church, O Lord Jesus, is a haven for sinners, the place where we hear words of forgiveness and receive the blessings of Your sacraments. As we meet with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we see our strengths as well as weaknesses. Yet You have called us together so that the important work You entrusted to Your church can be done. We ask Your blessings on our worship, Bible studies, and our teaching. Let us never lose sight of the Great Commission You have given that we are to bring the Gospel to all. Bless our mission outreach that salvation might be known near and far. We ask this for the sake of Your holy church and the glory of Your name. Amen.

Prayer for Pastors, Priests and Church Workers

We thank You, Lord Jesus, for giving to us pastors and all workers in the church. They proclaim to us the message of Your love in Christ, which brings forgiveness and salvation. They equip us so that we can serve You. Give them a strong faith. Prepare them to meet the challenges that face Your church. Help them to find joy in working with one another and with the members of the congregation. Bless their marriages and families. Let them show forth the joy that comes only from knowing and serving You. Teach us to love, honor, and respect them as messengers sent from You. Grant to us Your richest blessings as we together with them build Your kingdom. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Prayer For Protection From Harm

Lord, watch over your Church,
and guide it with your unfailing love.
Protect us from what could harm us
and lead us to what will save us.
Help us always,
for without you, we are bound to fail.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

Prayer for Renewal of the Church

Father,
keep in your people the Holy Spirit.
Let your church be continually renewed
and show the image of Christ to the world
by being conformed to his likeness,

Prayer for Teachers

Bless those who teach, dear Father. Instill in them love and respect for their students. Help them to be diligent in their preparations. Give them the skill to inspire and enlighten those entrusted to their care. Provide patience when they struggle with those who are difficult or slow to learn. Make them wise so they might have discernment and know what is truly important. Let them be accepting like Jesus when people come to them for help. Allow them to have joy in their work and a knowledge of their value to society. May all their efforts be to Your eternal glory. We pray in the name of Your Son, our only Savior, who was the greatest teacher of all. Amen.

Prayer that I May Do The Will of God

Lord, help us to do your will
that your Church may grow
and become more faithful in your service.

Prayer to Increase Spiritual Gifts

Father,
from living stones, your chosen people,
you built an eternal temple to your glory.
Increase the spiritual gifts you have given to your Church
that your faithful people may continue to grow
into the new and eternal Jerusalem.

God our Father,
you will never allow the power of hell
to prevail against your Church,
founded on the rock of the apostle Peter.
Keep us faithful to your truth
and secure in your peace.

Prayer to Rekindle Our Love

Lord Jesus Christ, we confess:
that we have sinned against you, by sinning against our brothers and sisters,
that we have not always endeavored to maintain the bond of unity,
that we have not always been ready to pray together,
that we have not always been ready to forgive and to ask forgiveness,
that we have not always believed that unity is even possible,
that we can do more, we can love more and we can believe more.
Forgive our sins, O Lord, rekindle our love and renew a right spirit within us.

God our Father, pour out the gifts of Your Holy Spirit on the world.
You sent the Spirit son your church to begin the teaching of the Gospel,
now let the Spirit continue to work in the world,
through the hears of all who believe.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. AMEN
